Two of our community partners, Wal-Mart and The Scotts Company, have aided the students at Cartmell Elementary who are working on the Sellers Community Garden in honor of their friend and classmate who passed away last year. The garden is a project by the Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) in honor Deacon Sellers, who was a member of STLP and had a vision for a community garden. They are being helped by CCHS student Coy Willhoite, who is in the agriculture pathway. He secured the donations of tools and soil for the Cartmell students. Thank you to our wonderful community partners who are always willing to lend a hand for our students!

Project-Based Learning students at CCHS recently built bridges out of popsicle sticks and had to test their strength. Each bridge had to hold 25 pounds. All entries met that goal. Some failed at 55 pounds while others did not break even after one or more people stood on the popsicle stick creations. (More photos on the District Facebook page.)
